Biography

Marcilei Aparecida Guazzelli completed her Bachelor's degree in Physics in 1994 at the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (IFUSP), her Master's degree in 1999, and her Doctorate in Physics in 2004, also at IFUSP. She completed a postdoctoral internship at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, Italy. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in 2006 at the University of São Paulo, where she maintains collaborations. She worked as a professor at the Methodist University of São Paulo, where she also served as president of the book committee and a member of the editorial board. Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor I, with full-time dedication, at the FEI University Center. She coordinates projects for the study of natural radiation in soils and plants, carried out at the FEI University Center and supported by FAPESP. She participates in other research projects on nuclear techniques used in the analysis and characterization of materials. She works in the area of basic nuclear physics, applied nuclear physics, and materials physics. Currently, she is working on research into materials robust to ionizing radiation.

Full Professor and director of the Institute of Chemistry of the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Araraquara-SP, Brazil. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Member of the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo. Member of the European Academy of Sciences. Researcher CNPq 1A (Brazilian agency- highest level). Vice-coordinator of the National Institute of Photonics, Brazil (http://inct.info/en/). Associate Editor of the Journal “Frontiers in Chemistry- Inorganic Chemistry”. Co-editor the Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology. Member of the international board of the Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids. Main interests are in Inorganic Chemistry and its implications in Materials Science, Spectroscopy and Education in Chemistry. On-going research projects deal with natural polymers (bacterial cellulose and silk fibroin), organic-inorganic hybrids, waveguides, porous materials and lanthanide basedluminescent markers (down-shifting and upconversion) for Medicine.

Dr. Roberta Albino dos Reis is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC, Brazil) funded by FAPESP, currently conducting a research tenure at the University of Oxford (UK). With a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Science and Technology/Chemistry from UFABC, her academic journey includes a strong background in Chemical Engineering and international research experiences, such as a collaborative residency at the Université de Lorraine (France) and a research period at the University of Bradford (UK). Her expertise spans Physical Organic Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Spectroscopy, and Luminescence. Currently, her research focuses on the development of innovative biomaterials, gas-delivery systems (nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide releasing platforms), and the eco-friendly synthesis of nanoparticles for biomedical and agricultural applications.

Dr. Weiwei Gao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, a role she has held since 2018. She began her academic career at the university as an Assistant Professor from 2016 to 2017. Dr. Suk-Ho Choi is a distinguished Fellow Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Kyung Hee University, South Korea, where he previously served as the Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences from 2001 to 2011.
